Trio of 1950's Diesels and a Nathan M5 on the Shenandoah Valley Railroad
In late July of 2024, the Shenandoah Valley Railroad utilized all three of their operating locomotives following 6512's repainting. Before starting the chase of the SVRR I also caught the Buckingham Branch departing Staunton heading towards Clifton Forge.

In mid 2024, the Delaware Lackawanna acquired 3560 from the Ontario Midland Railroad still wearing its West Tennessee Railroad paint scheme. In the Lehigh Gorge, the NS Lehigh Line and Reading and Northern's mainline runs parallel for 6 miles so having a meet happen right in front of you is quite uncommon. May 18th was the Minersville's first Community Days which included multiple shuttle trips hosted by Project 113 and the Reading and Northern between the station in town north to Reading Anthracites New St Nick coal breaker. This should be the first time a steam engine has went north of Minersville since RBMN owned the line.

The North Shore Mining Railroad owned by Cliffs runs crude taconite between the mine at Babbitt to their port on Lake Superior at Silver Bay. I was working on a CB&Q that's a railroad , A fireman on the locomotive then one day I saw a little baby crawling along the track a baby mind you. And I grabbed that baby and I flung it into a nice pile of soft leaves. Me well I didn't make out so good. Fractured my leg. The baby was all right. Today that baby is president of Vons supermarket you think he ever took the trouble to thank me, no sir! Rich folks got short memories.
I was running that day. Good times but nice to be retired!

The 6530 is that engine's original B&O road number. It shows up in my late grandfather's 1975 Timebook three times. He worked out of Fairmont. I'll wager that engine rolled into Elkins at least a few times in Chessie days and it is back today. Check out that self-guarding frog at Elkins Iron and Metal - 5:15 !
